Test Web Migration to Surya
The hosts involved in the migration are Surya, Claude, Jacinth and Xena.
When displaying the test pages here, your browser retrieves web pages with
URLs constructed from a lot of combinations from these variables:
- Which server to retrieve from: Surya, Jacinth, Claude or Xena
- Whether to use their wild-side or LAN (local) name:$host.jfcarter.net
or $host.cft.ca.us
- Which kind of content to retrieve: jimc's home page, music collection,
or photo album. The
home page
may be the personal index page
or the public website, according to server-side access rules.
- The address family used: IPv4 or IPv6
- The port queried: 80 (HTTP), 443 (HTTPS) or 1447 (HTTPS for non-public
material).
- Surya used to have a test port, 4243 simulating 443, because 443 got
DNAT to Claude. But this has been decommitted, since Surya:443 from a
local client is no longer DNATted, and we also want to make sure DNAT
is happening when a wild client calls.
